Two main events follow the Community Celebration: including a free screening of locally produce films on June 18 with a Disability and Arts theme at the Vancouver International Film Festival’s Vancity Theatre,  and a Summer Solstice celebration with food and music in the park to conclude the festival on June 20st.

The festival ends with a grand Summer Solstice Celebration. Music and activities started at 6pm with performances by Gamelan Bike Bike. The event will be animated by giant puppets and members of the Dusty Flowerpot Cabaret. Event-goers dress up in costume as well. At 8pm, the Carnival Band leads the solstice procession down to David Lam Park by False Creek for more performances and a sunset celebration marking the beginning of summer and the end to the month long Gathering Festival.
